Mortgage Debt Greater Than Home Equity
March 7th, 2008 Posted in GeneralI normally do not try to promote the negative issues facing the housing market, however I found this particular story very troubling. I experienced a 50% correction of the Japanese housing market in the early 90’s when I lived in Japan and a 50% correction of the Hong Kong housing market in the late 90’s when I lived in Hong Kong.
We are entering an economic period not seen by this generation. I believe that we have a stronger infrastructure based on the principles of Adam Smith but if our political leaders try to hard to manage this correction, we will only be extending the inevitable. >
